One day, a ‘bluff rat’ from Corpus Christi, Texas found himself awash on the shores of the Hawaiian islands. He brought with him nothing, but a friend, a skateboard, and a passion for cooking.


  Twelve years later, we welcome Alex Hankins to our hideout, as he sets his sails towards another foolhardy venture: uncovering a delicate balance of flavors that stay true to both his native roots in the comfort-food center of South Texas, and the adoptive culture of his great island escape.


Haole may mean outsider, but this ‘Haole’ dives deep to bring out the best blend of Hawaiian-local cooking you can find in this part of the Mainland. And, trust us, being an outsider never tasted this good.
